Dior Couture Starry Girl

Certainly the Haute Couture is the kind of Fashion which is really tied to its origins and its tradition. It is the hymn of the ephemeral, the opulence and of the appearance and I think that these are the key factors that make it so glamorous.

Pointing out the theatrical element which marks French Fashion, Karl Lagerfeld once said  “c’est toujours Marie Antoinette” (which means “it’s Marie Antoinette everyday”). The Couture Fashion – which is typically French – really embodies this concept and Dior stands for it beautifully. As the couturiers tradition and French Fashion have their roots in the monarchy, as well Monsieur Christian designed a decade gleaning inspirations from the Marie Antoinette’s era – which leads us to Karl again. Even if in this day and age women look for comfortable clothes and the most of us don’t have to walk on a red carpet, nevertheless those long evening gowns still have the power to make us dream about wearing them. So, while we fight for equality in the daytime, we fantasize about “princessing” in the night. But this is a tangle that I don’t want to disentangle thus, back to the main topic! I chose my favorite collections and the amazing one created by Maria Grazia Chiuri for Dior stands out between them. What’s yours?
